VasanthSreeram
Builder & founder — applied AI, ops systems, circular hardware.
I run Lintlabs / Lintware, help ship BugBoom and Noverse, and build tools like MacWispr. This site is the single feed for notes that came from real work.
Writing
Good intentions, bad outcomes
Open House had three ECG projects in different skins. The hospital consult explained why — a long needs brief, prior art mostly on student push, a hard "don't copy," and a course that still pays for devices that merely work. You get uniqueness as decoration on mediocrity.
The device has to work
One project meeting said the quiet part of Singapore schooling out loud: the device has to work. Not explore. Not compound. Work. That is not one rubric — it is the national scoreboard.
Project Panama: they sold virtue, then they hid the knives
Anthropic sold itself as the moral lab. Exhibit 21 shows they ran a secret programme to destructively scan the world's books. I grew up treating knowledge like it had a pulse. I am boycotting Claude.
What to subscribe to in August 2026
ChatGPT and Grok are the same class — ChatGPT a tad smarter, Grok faster on search. Add Gemini for pictures. I am boycotting Claude after Project Panama.
Alvarmethod: one teacher, one mind — how the loop actually helps
A longer field note on turning Eero Alvar’s AI learning loop into portable skills — probe in the real quiz UI, a mermaid DAG, one-step teaching, and the pictures that lock a step in.
Sixty-four repos, one thread: what my GitHub history says about how I work
I read all 64 public repos as one career: COVID-era hackathon bots, NTU research games, then a 2026 run of on-device Mac AI — macwispr, voice-evolve, a 4.73B MoE trained on a Mac Studio, and the reverse-engineered Cursor API.
Block YouTube Shorts. Keep YouTube.
Three years of trying to kill the Shorts slot machine without losing the library. The fix was solving an HTTP problem at the right layer: one Cloudflare Gateway regex on the /shorts/ path.
n8n speech-to-text automation with ParakeetASR
Audio files to text automatically: NVIDIA's Parakeet model via RapidAPI, wired into a 3-node n8n workflow with a web upload form. 12x cheaper and 3380x faster than Whisper.
Selected work
Live products and systems, not deck-only demos.
CART 01
Lintlabs / Lintware
Applied AI lab for SMEs — agents, voice intake, ERP wiring, internal tools that finish jobs.
CART 02
BugBoom
Circular food-waste systems (BSF / composting) plus BugGuide field tooling for schools and tours.
CART 03
Noverse
AI grading and learning stack — CTO / lead engineer seat on product that has to mark real work.
CART 04
MacWispr
On-device dictation product experiments with public usage surfaces.
CART 05
FYP Research Gap Agent
Agentic theory–experiment gap finder for gene-editing / nucleic-acid literature.
FIELD NOTE
AirPrint via an agent
Chippy traced a dumb JetDirect dongle and wrong PDLs until paper hit the floor.
FIELD NOTE
The GCP credential heist
Three unauthorized VMs on the Noverse GCP project ran Bissa — 7,877 sites, 11,250 .env files, 50+ countries in ~16 hours.
FIELD NOTE
Bits and Bolts 2019
A JC team walked into a university hackathon as underdogs and took 2nd place. The bracket doesn't decide who ships.
Open source
⭐ 5
MacWispr
On-device voice dictation for macOS — Qwen3-ASR via MLX or Parakeet on the Neural Engine. Free open-source alternative to Wispr Flow.
EXPERIMENT
voice-evolve
Two local AI agents call each other on a real Telegram line; a Gemini judge grades the call until it sounds human. Runs on Apple Silicon.
RESEARCH
Marco MoE on Apple Silicon
Pre-training a 4.73B sparse MoE on a Mac Studio — 5 dispatch strategies benchmarked, 2,293× speedup between worst and best.
REVERSE-ENG
cursorbleed
Use Cursor as an OpenAI-compatible API — with the ConnectRPC reverse-engineering notes that explain how.
PIPELINE
videodub
Single-container GPU video dubbing: ASR → translate → voice-cloned TTS → lip sync.
TOOL
hf2capcut
Convert HyperFrames HTML compositions into real CapCut / JianYing project files.
BRIDGE
lintwechat
WeChat API bridge for international accounts — WeChatFerry + Docker + REST.
BENCHMARK
context-poison-bench
How well AI coding agents detect planted documentation lies across a real monorepo.
FIELD NOTE
64 repos, one thread
My whole GitHub history read as one career — from JC scripts to on-device agent systems.
Pressure is a feature when you build for messy reality.
Parallel companies, agent stacks, and hardware that has to survive staff who didn't read the manual. The long origin story sits in Writing — factory floor childhood through TeachX, then Lintlabs / BugBoom / Noverse.
I care about loops that close: green checkmarks that mean ink, agents that finish jobs, servers that don't invite the internet in.
